Update - Microsoft Azure latest update shows them expecting to have all services fully restored globally by 10am AEST. We will continue to monitor and provide updates.

Kiosk and Mobile payments are operational at most locations, if kiosk payments are failing at your site, please have the customer pay using Mobile Pay.

Investigating - We have received reports of transaction timeouts in the the UK on Kiosk and Mobile payments. Some (but not all) kiosk payments in Australia are also affected.

The root cause for this outage has been identified to be a disruption on a critical cloud server provided by Microsoft outage which has affected thousands of businesses gloabally including Microsoft itself.

Internet services are restoring globally as Microsoft restore services. Azure cloud computing platform, which underpins large parts of the internet, had reported a "degradation of some services" due to a "DNS issues". For the most up to date information you can refer to Microsoft's status page: https://azure.status.microsoft/en-us/status

As it is a DNS issue, some transaction may fail until the Microsoft DNS change propagates out to all servers globally. We are seeing servers recover, but depending where you are located it may take a DNS server located locally to you longer to recover.

Identified - A ticket has been lodged with the provider responsible for this service and we are waiting on problem resolution.

Investigating - Our internal monitoring has detected Mobile QR codes are currently not working.

The disruption has been traced to an external service provider responsible for the QR code service and we are in contact with them for service resolution.

Kiosk payments are unaffected and continue functioning normally.

Remote start payments, done through the store owner self service portal are also unaffected.

We thank you for your support and patience while we wait on a service update from the downstream provider.

If you would like to implement a temporary work-around, please email our service desk who will provide you with a direct (non QR code link) that your customers can use in the interim to make payments.

Resolved - According to Amazon’s statuspage, the underlying DNS issue at Amazon has been fully mitigated, and most AWS Service operations are running normally now.

We can see mobile app transactions going through normally on the Tangerpay platform and are marking this incident resolved.

Identified - We’re currently experiencing an outage affecting the service that links machine QR codes to Tangerpay.

Please note that remote starts through the Tangerpay Portal remain fully functional as well as Kiosk payments.

Our team has confirmed that this issue is related to the ongoing AWS service outage, as reported by Amazon: https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status . The Tangerpay QR code service relies on AWS infrastructure, and functionality will be restored once the upstream issue is resolved.

Our team is monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as soon as they become available.
